MEET DR. SERENA

Dr. Serena Goldstein is a Naturopathic Doctor who works significantly to support those around weight, hormonal issues, mood, gut and thyroid, where she addresses the big picture, and then creates individualized plans to support her patient’s mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

BIO
As a Naturopathic Doctor, she completed 5 years Naturopathic school where the first two years are more conventional medicine based, then the next 2-3 years are all the “-ologies”, nutrition, homeopathy, IV therapy, physical medicine, pharmacology, botanical medicine, and minor surgery so it’s more tools in our toolbox to really share what your options may be for care.

She received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Pre-med with a minor in Biology from the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University where she graduated Cum Laude with honors. Then she attended National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR, where she received her Naturopathic Doctorate, and certificate in Homeopathy.

Professionally, she has written numerous articles and research articles, been quoted in places like MindBodyGreen with some of her top colleagues and other functional medicine doctors, appeared on a variety of podcasts, and spoken both professionally and educationally at many conferences, both online and in-person.

WHEN HORMONE & WEIGHT ISSUES ARISE..

They are frustrating, can affect our mood, digestion, create acne and other unwanted skin conditions, and sometimes make us feel that we have no idea what our body is doing, and worst of all, where to start. It’s almost impossible to feel good in one’s skin, especially as you go about your day to day. In fact, it’s probably harder to listen to your body and perhaps you’ve hit a plateau on feeling like you can truly access your intuitive self.

Dr. Serena understands, as her history of Midol and Pro-activ, multiple birth controls, plus a journey of different diets, all came to a head when she gained about 30 pounds in a short period of time, breaking out in hives second year of medical school, soon to be told she has something like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

LONG-TERM HEALING

What this means for you, is that you may or may not have a specific diagnosis, but just don’t ‘feel good’, as Dr. Serena very much understands this on both a personal and professional level.

Plus, it can be difficult to listen to our body when it feels like total chaos, or if you’ve never really been in this position with this variety of symptoms before and unsure what to think and/or where to start. As a former competitive gymnast and musician, Dr. Serena knows the desire to achieve.. but to also strike that balance in taking research to someone who can speak the same language. You want a different perspective, to perhaps go as natural as possible, but unsure where to start.

And it’s not like there’s a magic pill either (though you may feel a little better) when it come to long-term health & healing. Plus, knowing what our body is saying is so important to this too!
